Theatrical release in Taiwan December 4
The R. W. Fassbinder price in Mannheim-Heidelberg
“The Rainer-Werner-Fassbinder Prize goes to “MISS KICKI” by Håkon Liu from Sweden, as it shows us in an exemplary manner, how an actress shapes a film. In ever surprising ways it shows us that cinema does not need many words to express the unsaid and inexpressible in human relationships.”
Winner of The Telia Film Award
Miss Kicki won The Telia Film Award at 20th Stockholm Int. Film Festival. The motivation from the jury was: With a subtle, yet precise emotional and visual language, this movie takes us on an inner and outer journey, describing one of the most complex relationships of all- that between a mother and a son. The Telia Film Award goes to Miss Kicki by Håkon Liu.
Eating snake
Promotion in Taipei for the theatrical release has started. Having the director and actor eating snake and drinking its blood is obviously the marketing tool.

SPECIAL MENTION AWARD at Pusan
We got the SPECIAL MENTION AWARD today (Oct 16) for Miss Kicki at The 14th Pusan International Film Festival. We are really happy about this! We also want to congratulate Zaida Bergroth and Jarkko Hentula for receiving the big Flash Forward award for the film Last Cowboy Standing.
Comment from the Jury:A perfect example of how “big” a “small” can be. The director’s talent shines and portrays multi-national issues, social problems, domestic conflict, friendship and other intricate dilemmas within simple drama. The script, acting and directing are all well composed.
Taiwan poster
Here is the Taiwanese poster for Miss Kicki. The film will premiere in Taipei on December 4. So hurry to Taiwan to get your tickets!

World premiere
Yesterday we had our world premiere of Miss Kicki at Lotte Cinema in Pusan. It was a good screening although the festival cancelled the QnA session. But the audience met the director in the lobby after the screening and then had the chance to ask him questions. It was a big crowd and many autographs were written.

Le Grande Finale!
Today it was the last shootingday of Miss Kicki. We wished for snow for a specific scene but all the snow in Gothenburg was gone. Suddely, like someone pushed a button, the snow finally came. We were all very happy but happiest of all was the Taiwanese crew that wanted to see the snow.
